Although we've shown it in countless recipes, you might not think at first that our compact jarred preserves are a nutritious, quick-to-prepare alternative not just for you, but for the whole family. ‍ ‍ ‍ Complete casseroles and main courses ready to cook are a great help in the kitchen, as you can add a few ingredients, garnishes and vegetables and make a meal for several people in minutes. Luckily, whether you use our varied ingredients as sauces, fillings or main ingredients, you won't have to worry about household costs as well as time and energy with our money-saving recipes below. Here are the best money-saving menus for the whole family!

Green bean casserole POLCZ with vegetable chicken nuggets

Total cost: approx. 3500 Ft - for 3 persons

Ingredients:

  • POLCZ Chicken stew with vegetables
  • 20 dkg diced bacon
  • 25 dkg green beans
  • 5 dkg butter
  • 2 heaping tablespoons of flour
  • 4 dl milk
  • nutmeg
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 15 dkg grated cheese

Fry the bacon in a pan, then remove and set aside. In the same pan, heat the POLCZ Vegetable Chicken Nuggets. In the meantime, pre-cook the beans in salted water for 3-4 minutes, drain and mix with the sautéed bacon. Then we get down to the classic béchamel. Heat the butter, add the flour, whisk until lump-free and pour in the milk in stages. Stir until it thickens and when the desired consistency is reached, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Now comes the best part, the layering! Line a heatproof dish with sponge, spoon the POLCZ ragout in the bottom, top with the green bean and bacon layer, drizzle with the béchamel and finally sprinkle with grated cheese (you can leave this out if you like). Bake in a preheated oven at 175° C for 40 minutes until golden brown.

Stuffed cabbage with tomatoes

Total cost: approx. 4700 Ft - for 4 persons

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces POLCZ Turkey with cabbage
  • 10 - 12 raw cabbage leaves
  • 400 ml tomatoes (passata)
  • 400 ml water
  • 70 g concentrated tomatoes
  • 1 head of small onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground sweet red pepper
  • To serve: sour cream

To prepare the stuffed cabbage, pre-cook the cabbage leaves in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Fry the chopped onions in a small saucepan, add the POLCZ Cabbage Turkey and heat through. Add cumin and sweet red pepper to taste. Stuff the cooked cabbage leaves with the POLCZ Cabbage Turkey and wrap tightly (we tied the small packages together with string to make sure the stuffing stays in). Take a large bowl and mix the tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato concentrate and water. Pour 1-2 tbsp of the sauce into the bottom of a larger pot, then place the stuffed cabbages in and finally top with the remaining tomatoes and cover. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer until the cabbage is tender, about 1 hour. Serve with sour cream and fresh bread!

Chilli beans with pumpkin

Total cost: approx. 3000 HUF - for 4 persons

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar POLCZ Chilli beans with chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (any kind of fat will do)
  • 1 head of onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt, pepper
  • 550 - 600 g cleaned pumpkin
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika (hot paprika to taste)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 mk Dutch cocoa
  • 400 ml vegetable stock
  • 400 g canned chopped tomatoes

Don't be fooled by the list of ingredients, because this is a quick and easy meat-free recipe (well, it's worth starting the pumpkin peeling early).To make the pumpkin chilli beans, first fry the chopped onion in coconut oil, then season with salt and pepper, and then add the pumpkin pieces, about 2 cm thick. While it is softening, sprinkle with the spices and pour over the vegetable stock. Mix well and add the canned tomatoes to the delicacies simmering in the pan. The POLCZ chilli beans are added to the creamy mixture and brought to the boil. Serve with fresh parsley and rice!

Beef and eggplant casserole

Total cost: approx. 5500 Ft - for 4 persons

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles POLCZ beef with mustard
  • 1 large aubergine
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 4 - 6 tablespoons grated cheese
  • Besamel:
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • salt, white pepper
  • nutmeg

Start with the vegetables first. Cut the washed aubergines lengthways into thin slices, then peel and dice the potatoes. Then prepare the béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan, fry the flour, add the milk and season. Cook until you have a thick creamy sauce. Take a medium-sized baking dish, grease it and layer: make a bed with the potato rings, drizzle with half of the besamel, top with a few eggplant slices, then the POLCZ beef ragout and the grated cheese. Then the rest of the aubergine and mustard beef, the béchamel and finally the grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes. You wouldn't believe how delicious it is! ☝️

Bolognese casserole with basil pasta

Total cost: approx. 4500 Ft - for 3 persons

Ingredients:

This super simple recipe is just a few steps. We cook the pasta until it's medium-hard and once it's drained, we mix it with our POLCZ Bolognese sauce and put it on a baking tray. To make the final result really juicy, it's worth adding four tablespoons of sour cream. Sprinkle the top well with cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200-220°C until the top is nicely browned. Of course, you can sprinkle more on top when serving to make it look better on the table. The jolly joker of casseroles!

Lentil sweet potatoes

Total cost: approx. 3300 Ft - for 3 persons

Ingredients:

Boil water and add a little salt. Peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into thin slices and drop them into the boiling water for two minutes. Drain and rinse well in cold water to stop the cooking process, then set aside. While the softened potato rings are resting, heat the lentil kernels in a saucepan. Now it's time to layer! Take a smaller, rather taller pan so that you can stack the layers generously. Put half of the potatoes on the bottom, then a spoonful or two of the casserole, another layer of potatoes, another layer of casserole and so on. Spoon the sour cream on top and sprinkle with grated cheese. In a preheated oven at 200°C, you can have your delicious vegetable casserole in just 20 minutes.

Lactic chicken with korma rice

Total cost: approx. 3800 Ft - for 4 persons

Ingredients:

Clean the chicken breasts, cut into 2-3 cm pieces and set aside while you prepare the sauce. Spoon the Indian Chickpea Casserole into a knife shredder - if you want an even more intense flavour, add more spices to taste, chilli powder, cardamom, ginger or garlic. Process in the blender until you have a smooth, creamy paste, then stir in the yoghurt. Then add the sauce to the chicken breast cubes and mix thoroughly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Put the oil and butter in a pan, add the chopped onion and fry until the butter caramelises. Finally, add the yoghurt chicken and cook for a further 12-15 minutes. Serve with bulgur or rice, both are very filling.

Mexican vegetable bulgur risotto

Total cost: approx. 2500 Ft - for 3 persons

Ingredients:

Heat the coconut oil (but any fat will do) and fry the garlic cloves in it. Then add the bulgur, fry for 1-2 minutes and pour in the stock just enough to cover. Let it soak under the lid, adding more of the vegetable stock if necessary. Now for the hearty POLCZ ingredient! Stir our Mexican delicacy with corn beans into the bulgur, and finally top with cream. Don't miss this incredibly quick and hearty, heavenly meal! It was a huge hit at home!
